Getting Techy With It: Introducing My New Maytag Washer and Dryer

Who knew a washer and dryer could be so space age?

That’s what I said when I first saw the Maytag Bravos XL HE Top Load Washer with PowerWash System and the Bravos XL High Efficiency Electric Steam Dryer during an hh gregg opening event I attended in September. I was totally in awe of its sleek design, digital display, sound capabilities, and size. Little did I know that I would have the opportunity to have my very own set.

I won it at the end of the event.

Fast forward to earlier this week when my new toys were delivered to my house. I was so happy to finally have a new washer and dryer after years of having one that was 15 years plus old. I don’t know how they knew, (maybe they inquired, I can’t remember), but they sent me the set in the “granite” color option which is totally me. The appliances have a sleek and modern look to for a washer and dryer.

It’s a top load version, but still quite clever. The Bravos XL is a high efficiency (HE) washer, which is better on resources and uses less water than traditional machines. It also has so many settings and functions, I can’t wait to use them all! The washer also comes with the Cold Wash option, which is better for your electric bill. Detergent makers like Tide make a special Coldwater formula just for washers with these options.

I’ve had the chance to run a few loads through the washer and dryer and I am very impressed.  My old washer was not very big and it would take me a long time to do laundry. The Bravos XL washer is 4.6 cubic feet with plenty of room for large loads. And the dryer boasts features that will lessen my dry cleaning bill, including steam drying. I’ve moved up like the Jeffersons!
