Giveaway: Holiday Gatherings and Traditions with Hickory Farms

Holiday Gatherings and Traditions with Hickory Farms

I am not much of an entertainer 10 months out of the year, but when it hits November and December, well, I turn into the hostess with the mostess. I most enjoy having my family and loved ones over to my home for holiday cheer while spending some much needed time with one another. As a matter of fact, between Thanksgiving and Christmas Eve, I probably have about 3 to 4 separate events in my home to celebrate the joy of the season. And with these gatherings come the tradition of hosting Thanksgiving dinner in my home, trimming the tree party, holiday caroling, and my festive Christmas Eve party. My house turns into the place to be!

With the celebrating and hosting of events comes the need to have good eats for my guests to nosh on. I rely a lot on finger foods and items that can be made in bulk and served casually. For the past two years, I’ve used Hickory Farms gift boxes and items to serve to my guests, and they always go over well. This year, I am serving cheeses from the Hickory Farms Reserve line (click here) that are the finest selection of natural artisan cheeses from Wisconsin. Since I am such a cheesehead, and know that many of my guests are also, the Hickory Farms Reserve Gift Box will go over well.

Hickory Farms Reserve 2013 Holiday Gift Guide

Hickory Farms Reserve Holiday Gift Guide

It’s these holiday traditions that make this time of year so special. The memories we make during these next few weeks will last a lifetime. For over 50 years, Hickory Farms has been a part of so many holiday celebrations around the world. They truly represent what the season is about.

So to promote holiday celebrations, Hickory Farms wants to help honor the traditions we all have in our families by giving away a Hickory Farms Reserve Gift Box to one (1) lucky TheCubicleChick.com reader. To enter to win the gift basket, you must do the following:

  • Comment below letting me know one holiday tradition you are looking most forward to this year.

That’s it! One (1) reader will be selected at random, and will be announced via email, so make sure that when you comment, you are using an email address that you check regularly. The winner will have 48 hours to claim their prize, or an alternate winner will be selected. This giveaway is open to all readers, void where prohibited. This giveaway ends Wednesday, November 27th at 7pm CST.

Compensation and products for review were provided by Hickory Farms via MomTrends. I received a free sample of the product for the purpose of this review and to facilitate a giveaway.  The opinions expressed herein are those of the author and are not indicative of the opinions of Hickory Farms.

The day before Thanksgiving my whole family, aunts-cousins and all, get together and eat pie. We each bring a whole pie for another person in the family, just what they requested, and we share. We try to taste as many pies as we can and we all have a great time reflecting ‘Pie Nights’ past and how thankful we all are that we have one another.

I’m actually NOT looking forward to the holidays this year, as I usually go home to DC and spend a few weeks with family and friends there. However, because I’m dealing with cancer this year, I’m not able to travel. I imagine there will be a lot of skype-ing though!

We have many holiday traditions but the one I love the most is opening a pair of new pj’s on Christmas Eve from my parents. Still to this day they give me a new pair of comfy pj’s on Christmas Eve. I wear therm almost the entire Christmas Day at my own home until we have our family dinner when I actually get dressed. 🙂

We used to decorate the house together every Christmas. As a kid I would have rather been out playing, but I see today why we did it as a family. We do the same thing with our kids. We decorate the house and put up the tree together as a family.
