The Power of ‘Capturing a Moment’ With Your Smartphone Camera

When I am out and about, I hardly ever have my digital camera with me. Being a Digital Debutante means constantly being on the go, but doing so without a lot of “stuff”. I love my smartphone because it is multi-functional: I can read and send emails, stay plugged in to my social networks, text, compose documents, and take photos and video.

My soon to be 8 year old daughter is always doing something that amazes me, or she surprises me by doing something that is uber cute. So having my smartphone with me allows me to take pictures of her whenever I feel the need. My smartphone camera makes it easy to do so, and there are so many apps on the market that also allow you to edit, crop, and share the pictures in just a few seconds.

Capturing a moment on your smartphone is easy. You already have it with you because it’s your phone, so there’s no thinking about it.

Here are a few tips on Capturing a Moment With Your Smartphone Camera:

  • Don’t be afraid of taking a “bad” picture. If you shoot a picture and don’t like the angle or the quality, try again.
  •  Most smartphone cameras are loaded with options like zoom, changing the color or tone, flash, and more. Practice getting acquainted with these settings first so you feel comfortable using them.
  •  You can take a picture of anything with your smartphone camera. Don’t be afraid to get creative!
  •  You can easily share the photos that you take with your smartphone by emailing them or texting them to your family and friends. You can also use an photo app that can help you share your photos on various social networks.

When I am traveling or working on an assignment for my blog or my other freelancing jobs, having my smartphone with me so that I can take pictures is essential. And the quality of most smartphone cameras rival that of a traditional camera. Smartphones now have amazing zoom capabilities and look pretty sharp and clear. There are times when people cannot tell when I take a picture with my smartphone and when I take one with my camera!

Below are a few pictures that I took of one of my favorite subjects, my daughter, with my smartphone!
