Happy 4th of July, Cubes and Dudes. As we celebrate as a nation, I would like to personally wish each and every one of you a Happy Independence Day.
As I previously blogged, I was in Washington D.C. and was on my way back to St. Louis and missed most of the red carpet fabulosity. But you know I cannot miss the opportunity to share with you guys the hits and misses on the 84th Annual Academy Awards red carpet.
When I am out and about, I hardly ever have my digital camera with me. Being a Digital Debutante means constantly being on the go, but doing so without a lot of “stuff”.
How did you ring in the New Year? I spent it with my significant other in St. Louis, eating with friends, and then going out on the town to First Night St. Louis 2012 in Grand Center in midtown.
The first time I saw Natalie Wood in a film, I was a junior in high school, and we were forced to watch West Side Story in drama class. She was simply stunning, her beauty almost looked too massive to be seen on the less than stellar school TV on rollers.

Yes, today marks the first day of school for the Cubicle brood. My spacers, 7 yr old 2nd grader and 17 yr old senior are back at school after two months of being on summer break.
Many people have blogged their recaps and giving you the details of what happened during the past few days, so I won’t continue to follow the pack. But I will throw up three of the highlights of my weekend in San Diego. Pictorally speaking, they are pretty dope!
For most of my adult life, I have been #teamlonghair. Maybe it because I felt that society pressured me to keep it that way. Or maybe it was because I have a chubby face and always tried to hide it behind long hair.
I think the short cut came out nicely—it’s been over 10 years since I’ve had a short ‘do. Special thanks to Cre at CREative Styles by Cre Styling Boutique, located in South City St. Louis. If you want a a great ‘do that is natural or relaxed, Cre is your girl. I love her work!
Okay, so if you “know me, know me” then you know I love me some Jill Scott. She is my BFF in my head—her whole vibe, amazing talent, and voice has me in awe.
Oprah Winfrey is really making a mark with her new network, OWN. It is a fresh air to the cable line-up and has been making a lot of buzz lately.
