Are you ready? The tomfoolery that is the Real Housewives of Atlanta begins a new season tonight. And with the new season comes a few changes in the line-up as longtime resident RHOA castmember Sheree Whitfield was given her walking papers earlier this year, making way for newbies Kenya Moore (former Miss USA) and Porshe Stewart (wife of football player Kordell Stewart). Melanin challenged castmember Kim is noticeably absent in the official promotional photo, but will be making a few appearances this season. The rumor mill says she will be getting her own show, and will be slowly phased out of the RHOA franchise.
Returning are favorites Ne Ne (I’m VERY rich) Leakes, who is riding a career high as one of the actors on the NBC show The New Normal, Phaedra Parks, Kandi Burress, and Cynthia Bailey. Ne Ne and Kim are the only 2 remaining ladies from the original RHOA cast.
According to the word on the curb (and released promo trailers for the new season), Kenya is going to be the new mean girl of the bunch, as Ne Ne brings a more mellowed tone to the situation (will she be getting back with Gregg?). Cynthia is still trying to expand her empire, while Kandi has a new beau. Phaedra will be getting into the pet burial business (huh?), and Kim, well she may be getting evicted. All and all, this will make for interesting television to say the least.
At this point in time, I am over the high drama and charades of grown women acting like they are in high school by fighting, cursing each other out, and acting less than ladylike while representing themselves. But I will be tuning in at least to see the first episode, I guess because, I can admit—I can’t help but watch this supposed train wreck unfold.

I had actually sworn off watching all of these shows, Housewives, BBWives, MobWives, because I couldn’t lose any more brain cells. I must admit, I will be watching this first episode, just for kicks, lol.

As much as this show annoys the crap out of me, I will admit that I’m watching.
As a truly Real Housewife who lives in Atlanta, these broads don’t represent me or anyone in my “sister circle.”
Joyce, I say I am not going to watch it each season and I always get dragged in. We will see if it happens this season too. LOL.
