Sephora by OPI’s ‘What’s Your Point-settia’? + Unveiling New, Natural Nails

If you have read previous nail lacquer posts on my site, you know that I’ve worn acrylic overlay on my nails in order to keep them long. For years, I thought this was the only way I could have decent length nails—when I took the acrylic off, my nails were soft and brittle and prone to breaking, so it was an endless cycle of applying acrylic each time I got my nails done. Well last week, I decided enough is enough. Before I used acrylic on my nails many moons ago, I had natural, long nails which did well. In order for me to leave acrylic completely alone and go natural, I decided to cut down my nails and completely soak off and remove the acrylic.

Yesterday, I had my first true manicure in years that did not involve acrylic, gel, or fiberglass. I opted to have my nails cut low so that they would grow back in one length. The nail tech recommended I use Nail Tek Intensive Therapy for soft, peeling nails, as a bottom coat and top coat and apply it 2 to 3 times a week for maximum results. Hopefully, I will get my nails back in tip-top healthy shape.

According to the box, it says that Nail Tek “helps heal weak, thin, soft, or peeling nails. With every application, Intensive Therapy reinforces and thickens nails while promoting strength and flexibility”.

I will let you know the results of the treatment after a few applications.

I also purchased Sephora by OPI’s ‘What’s Your Point-settia?’ from their 2010 holiday collection. I was loving the glitzy feel of the shimmer without too much glitter. And the ruby-red esque color looked just right for the season. Here is what my nails looked like after two coats:

It is a little darker than what this picture indicates.

The picture also doesn’t show the true “sparkles” in the polish.

Got a design applied—pressure for the manicurist. Not really into it but it will do.

So there you have it—I am now a natural nail girl. While I do miss having the acrylic, I think this is now the best option for me. I look forward to more nail posts as my nails improve and get healthier. Sephora by OPI’s ‘What’s Your Point-settia?‘ retails for $9.00.

What do you think of Sephora by OPI’s ‘What’s Your Point-settia’?

Hey Alexandra, I love the color. Very rich and sparkly. I wish the pictures show the truth depth of the glitter. There is glitter in it but it’s not overwhelming like some OPI glitter lacquers. Let me know what you think when you wear it.

ANYWAYS…i love the color! The sparkle is subtle but adds a nice pop and i was surprised that the color wasn’t as red as I thought it would be. Its more berry-ish. Its def pretty and Im glad I bought it!
