Okay, so if you “know me, know me” then you know I love me some Jill Scott. She is my BFF in my head—her whole vibe, amazing talent, and voice has me in awe. Add to the fact that she is a badmammajamma with big hair and an even bigger smile, and Ms. Scott can do no wrong.
Jill is all set to take the radio by storm with a new release, ‘Just Before Dawn: Jill Scott From the Vault Vol.1’, which hits the streets this summer. You already know I am buying this album—no bootleg copy will do.
Why is Jill a Cubicle Chick? She makes juggling being a mom and working on her craft so easy! Between raising her son and working as an actress in films such as ‘Why Did I Get Married’ and LMN’s ‘Sins of My Mother’, AND making sweet music, she is a woman who does it all!

I just heard the song 3 days ago on iHipHop.com and of course you know that I had to download it! I definitely will be owning her Cd as soon as it drops. Next to Maxwell, Ms. Jilly from Philly is my next favorite singer. She has always brought the real. You know what though? The whole Philly scene is coming back really strong this year. The Roots just dropped an album, then there is Musiq Soulchild’s album coming in May and Eve has been on a lot of tracks lately. In fact, I have a track from Eve called Makeup Sex. You may ilke it. People should watch out this year because the real artist are coming harder than ever!

Jill Scott is such a positive person! I recently saw an interview with Jill and she gave thought provoking answers that forced viewers to search within themselves for purpose. She explained her philosophy about the beauty that resides within black communities across the world. She spoke about the beauty that exists within the world as a whole.
Jill Scott has been an inspiration to so many both female and male. I think that her positivity rubs off on all who listen to her music, watch her HBO series or watch her movies. Regardless of what she does, her positive demeanor illuminates and warms the soul. I am also a huge Jill Scott fan!
I also love her big hair!! Sometimes I try to get my hair to look like that and usually, I like it fairly weel, but it doesn’t compare to what she’s doing, LOL.
Not sure if I will buy the CD, but now that you’ve brought it to my attention, I might give it the look-see.
From what I hear both of her albums from her old label and her current one is going to be off the chain. This may well off be a good year in music. I’m waiting for her album, Sade, and of course my girl Beyonce.
