Cube Premiere Pictures: ‘Jumping the Broom’ Red Carpet

Black Hollywood has been abuzz regarding the film release of Jumping the Broom, a tale of two families from opposite backgrounds uniting for a wedding. The movie stars Angela Bassett, Paula Patton, Loretta Devine, and Laz Alonzo and was produced by TD Jakes and Tracey Edmonds. Jumping the Broom has been getting a lot of thumbs up by the Twitteratti and social networking circles, and looks like it will be a funny and enjoyable film to watch.

I haven’t seen the film yet, but plan on doing so this weekend. I love movies that feature African Americans with positive images.

I can’t wait to see Jumping The Broom! This was a pretty hip & haute red carpet.

Angela Bassett looked Uh-MAY-ZING!!!! I wonder if she knows she’s serving up a seriously modern take on a Valentino design for Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis in 1968. I love it. The color is gorgeous against her skin.

Meagan Good looks quite elegant. This is simple chic and she looks great. I think she should have worn a nude or a contrasting bright nail color though.

I’ll save Miss Devine for the end :/

Naturi Naughton is on trend in a pretty abstract floral frock. She’s too cute and her makeup is lovely.

Does Christina Milian ever look bad? I love her dress and her makeup is pretty.

Get it Mrs. Thicke aka Paula Patton. I love, love, love her chic LBD. I wish she would have worn her hair up. A high ponytail or a low chignon would have been fierce with her dress.

I do not love Sharon Leal’s look. I think a strappy sandal would have been a better shoe choice and that white clutch isn’t doing much for the look at all.

Tamala Jones… Hmmm… She’s a little too plain for a red carpet premiere in my opinion.

Niecey Nash and her ever present flower in the hair. She looks happy and confident. She knows what works for her body and she does a good job in picking dresses. Why does her fiancé have on jeans????

Eva has a lot going on here. The earrings are ginormous and they are fighting the print on her dress. I’m not 100% sold on that belt either. Love her hair and the bold lip though.

Lil Romeo is dapper in his suit & sneakers. His DWTS partner looks adorable and I want her shoes, lol!

Camille Winbush looks gorgeous. Love the hot pink! This young lady always brings her A-game to the events.

Teyana Taylor… I see nobody bothered to tell her about certain materials and flashing camera lights. She really should have put forth a better effort.

Vanessa Williams dress looks like a swimsuit cover up. It’s a cute dress but not very apropos for a red carpet

Pooch Hall and his wife look elegant. His bow tie is crooked, lol. Hope his lovely wife straightened it out for him at some point.

Now on to Loretta Devine… Forgive me but I must tell the truth. There is just TOO much going on with this look. Between the iridescent purple/royal blue jacket and skirt, the obvious lack of Spanxx, the poorly tucked in fuchsia camisole, that chain necklace, the buckling that is happening at the top of the skirt, and the shoes. I don’t understand what is happening. Miss Devine you could truly be divine with the help of a good stylist. Hire someone ASAP and stop showing up to these events looking less than fabulous. You have been in the game too long.
