Gap Year or Sabbatical: Would you take a year off to travel abroad?
Traveling is something I love to do for work and for fun. Most of the trips I’ve taken during the past two years have been mostly business, but I have been making a concerted effort to travel more for pleasure as well. There’s something about taking a break to get away from it all that is healthy and stress-free—it allows for you to recharge and refocus. But what about taking a whole year off from school or from work to travel the U.S. or abroad?

Hotel Review: Fairmont Hotel Chicago Millennium Park
Recently during a quick trip to the Windy City, I stayed overnight at the Fairmont Hotel Chicago Millennium Park. Booked on a whim using Priceline, I saw that the reviews were mostly positive, and since it was in a prime location, I decided to give it a go. I found the hotel to be pleasantly modern and upgraded despite its age, and the staff were very accommodating.

How to Avoid Jet Lag
I travel quite a bit, but recently, I’ve been suffering from jet lag. Now, I know a lot of you have heard of the term jet lag but do you actually know what it means? It is considered a circadian rhythm sleep disorder, which is a disruption of the internal body clock.” Symptoms can include headaches, dizziness, anxiety and more. Something that you may not know but kids can experience jet lag as well.

Chicago Travel: 5 Museums You Have to Visit the Next Time You’re in the Windy City
I love Chicago and not just because I live here! Chicago has some of the best food and lifestyle experiences of any city that I’ve ever been too. There are so many things to do here that sometimes even us residents have to take time to play tourist. One of my favorite yearly activities include visiting the local museums. I may not seem like a museum gal but I certainly am. I’ve been going to Chicago museums since I was a kid and now that the boychild is older, it’s about time that I take him. He has a very inquisitive mind so I’m sure it will not only keep his attention but it will also enhance his learning.
