#BeautyIs Taking Time Out For Oneself

#BeautyIsIf you know anything about me, then you know that I am a beast (when it comes to my work ethic).

Never happy with sitting still, I am always on the go. If I’m not parenting my kiddos and making sure everything in my home is A-OK, then I’m not working on growing my empire, or helping someone with theirs. I’m up in the air flying to cover an event or to put in some work. There are few moments when I am idle and still. And up until the last few months, I was okay with that. But now, I’m not.

I want more.

More from myself. More alone time. More time sitting down to enjoy the simple things in life. More time not being on the run or thinking of what’s next. I long for simplicity.

I’ve been taught that in order to get somewhere, you have to grind relentlessly. But at what cost? When do I get to sit and enjoy the fruits of my labor if I am always grinding? When do I get to take it all in?

As much as I talk about the importance of Work Life Balance and Work Life Management, I still need help with it. Because I can get obsessed with my duties and responsibilities to everyone else. But I also need to be just as obsessed to my duties and responsibilities to me.

Dove launched the #BeautyIs campaign in order for us to expose the things we think are beautiful. Because beauty is essentially in the eyes of the beholder. We all find beauty in different things. I find beauty in moments where I am able to unplug. Relax, Unwind. And be 100% me without a phone in hand and a pad in the other. I find beauty in being able to lay in the bed while cradling my tween while she still allows me that closeness. I find beauty when I am allowed to take time out for myself.

The most beautiful thing in this world is those quiet and peaceful moments.

This is not a sponsored post. This is not a campaign for Dove. They don’t even know I am posting this. But this is all about me and my moment and my time. This is about me getting back to the simple things of life. Because business can wait. But my sanity can’t.

Balance may be a bad word for some experts, but for me, it is everything. Make sure you try to balance the work with the play as much as you can. And make sure to experience your #BeautyIs, whatever it may be.

🙂
