2015 Hyundai Sonata Limited Review

Recently, I got the opportunity to drive around in the all new 2015 Hyundai Sonata Limited for a week to review it and share my thoughts with my readers. I had no experience with Hyundai before, as this was my first time driving one. I’ve seen over the years that Hyundai has stepped up their game immensely with their offerings. No longer just an “affordable” car brand, Hyundai is competing with luxury car brands with their flagship Sonata, and I am all for it. As someone who enjoys driving different cars and taking them out on the road, I was interested in putting the 2015 Hyundai Sonata Limited to the test. Did she pass or fail? Aesthetically, the 2014 Hyundai Sonata Limited is a beauty. I was given a Quartz White Pearl model, which was drool worthy. It’s curvy lines, panoramic sunroof, and keyless entry had me at hello. At least on three occasions, I was stopped and asked what I thought about the car from prospective buyers who had heard great things about the Sonata. It is indeed a head turner, for many reasons.

The drivability of the Sonata also was a surprise. I wasn’t expecting much, but I can tell you that the Sonata drives well and handles the road like a pro. The 2.4 liter engine on the model I tested was quiet and smooth. The only thing that I was disappointed in was the get up and go. The acceleration wasn’t as fast as I’ve seen on other vehicles in its class, but the other features of the car made up for it. The Blue Link system in the Sonata made it easy for me to connect wirelessly to my phone, as well as search for locations in the navigation.

The Infinity stereo system also was impressive. As someone who is a huge music fan, it was wonderful to hear music with quality speakers. The Sonata Limited I tested out came equipped with Sirius XM satellite radio, but also had an AUX connection for you to listen to your tunes while on the go. You could also sync your phone using bluetooth so that you can listen to the tunes on your phone, take calls wirelessly, etc.

I broke her in by taking the 2015 Hyundai Sonata on the road to Chicago, about a 4.5 drive away from St. Louis. I enjoyed utilizing the cruise control option and it drove well through light snow. The gas mileage was also pretty good—you get about 500 miles with a complete fill up, and traveling to Chicago, used a little over half of that. We also drove around a lot in Chicago, and I didn’t fill up until we were on our way back to St. Louis.

I totally recommend the 2015 Hyundai Sonata Limited if you are looking for a car with all of the bells and whistles, but want affordability. If you aren’t a Speedy Gonzales, this car is probably one of the best on the market in its class. I liked it so much, I didn’t want to give it back. I would totally contemplate buying a Hyundai Sonata for a next vehicle. It certainly has my attention.
