Don’t Get Sick This Holiday Season: Use These Healthy Tips {Sponsored}

Disclaimer: As a member of the Vicks® Ambassador Network, I will be sharing stories and tips related to their products and have received compensation. As always, I believe in honest storytelling as it relates to working with brands, and the opinions expressed in these posts belong to me and aren’t influenced in any way.

Don't Get Sick This Holiday Season Use These Healthy TipsNo one likes to get sick, especially around the holidays. When I was seventeen, I flew from Florida to my hometown of St. Louis to visit my family for Christmas. After my second day, I began experiencing cold symptoms, and by my third day, I was stuck in bed with a bad cold. By the time I got back to feeling better, it was time for me to leave again and head back to Florida. I remember that was one of my worst holidays ever—-I loved being back in my hometown, but hated missing a lot of it because I was sick.

I vowed never to be sick during the holidays again.

When it comes to getting sick this holiday season, no one has time for that! By using these healthy tips, you can cut down on your chances of getting sick so you can truly enjoy the most wonderful time of the year.

Here’s a few tips to keep you healthy so you don’t get sick this holiday season:

Tip #1 Wash Hands Thoroughly

Washing your hands thoroughly is great defense for stopping germs and the spread of colds and germs. Wash your hands often during the day and follow it up with hand sanitizer when needed.

Tip #2 Take Vitamins

Vitamin A and C are great in boosting your immune system which can help your body fight colds and other illnesses.

Tip #3 Eat Healthy Foods

Eating healthy foods can also help fight colds. Foods with vitamins, antioxidants, and minerals go a long way in keeping your immune system healthy and strong. Foods like fish, citrus fruits, and milk are great for helping to fight colds and flu.

Tip #4 Use Disinfectant

Using a disinfectant in your home can kill 99.9% of germs. Using bleach to clean surfaces protect you and your family.

If you start to experience cold symptoms, make sure to try Vicks® DayQuil® Cold & Flu Liquid and Vicks® NyQuil® Cold & Flu Nighttime Relief Liquid. I have personally used both of these products earlier this year when I got sick after a trip to Las Vegas. Because I had work to do, I needed something that could help me power through the day without being drowsy or spacey. Vicks® DayQuil® Cold & Flu was just what I needed and helped my cold symptoms after the first dose. Vicks® NyQuil® Cold & Flu Nighttime Relief  helped me get a good night’s sleep while sick—we all know sleepless nights tend to happen when you have a cold or the flu. With Vicks® NyQuil® Cold & Flu Nighttime Relief , I slept like a baby, and felt better in the morning.
