Last week, many of us watched the sad farewell by former Today Show co-anchor Ann Curry, who tearfully told us she was moving on to another department at NBC News. Her departure was imminent and was broadcast via blogs and gossip rags almost a full two weeks before she anchored the Today Show for the final time.
The first season of NBC’s Fashion Star just wrapped up, and I got the opportunity to do a video interview with winner Kara Laricks and judge and Macy’s buyer, Caprice Willard. Peep the video and also get a look at Kara’s fashions being sold at Macy’s.
NBC’s Fashion Star focuses on 14 designers who “pitch” their original creations to a judging panel consisting of three retailers: H&M, Macy’s, and Saks Fifth Avenue. Mentors to the contestants are fashionista Nicole Ritchie, multimedia star Jessica Simpson, and American fashion designer John Varvatos.
Hate it or love him, The Donald creates interesting television. Last season’s Celebrity Apprentice experienced great ratings, thanks to the antics of a well cast set of contestants. And if this new season is anything like the last, it will be must see TV.
When I first began seeing preview commercials of NBC’s new vocal talent competition ‘The Voice’ back in March, I was anxiously awaiting to see it for myself. The premise of ‘The Voice’ is quite different from past vocal showcases like ‘American Idol’.
