TCC Weight Loss Blog- Week One

A few days ago, I stepped on the scale and almost had a heart attack. I have packed on way too many pounds this winter and the buck must stop here. No longer will I be talking about wanting to make a change, I WILL make a change!

I am by no means obese but I do not like the numbers that welcomed me when I looked on the scale. As a daughter of a diabetes sufferer, weight is a very strong component to fighting this disease. Being overweight can cause diabetes and various other ailments and symptoms. I refuse to suffer from things I can easily treat with diet and exercise.

I have blogged about losing weight before many times. But this time, ladies and gentlemen, I won’t just blog and write about it, I will practice what I preach. Starting today, I am going to begin the TCC Weight Loss Blog, and I will blog about my weight loss two to three times a week so that you all can keep a tally on my progress.

Being sick has helped because during the last few days, I haven’t eaten much. But starvation is not the key to weight loss. It is ultimately burning more calories than you take it by eating right and participating in exercise.

My goal is to lose at least 20 lbs and to lose 3 to 5 inches from my waist. I would like to reach my goal by May 1, 2010.

On this blog during my check-ins, I will notate my weekly menu and food intake, exercise, and water intake.

I will also use photos to display the progress and will be posing pictures soon.

If you would like to join me in my weight loss challenge or subscribe to my TCC Weight Loss Newsletter, please comment below or email me at mail@thecubiclechick.com

Here’s to healthy and successful weight loss!

That sounds like a great goal! Don't know if it's really possible (for me) but I WILL join you on your quest. (I suffer from CPS -Couch Potato Syndrome LOL) May 1st is a good a deadline – my birthday is the 2nd! BTW, I've enjoyed following your tweets and blog posts. Keep 'em coming!!

I understand how you feel. Winter clothes, boots and tights can hide all those extra pounds from holiday meals. I just enrolled in an exercise class, so I will join you on the TCC Weight Loss challenge. I need to get in shape in time to fit into my summer clothes.

20 lbs by May 1st? I'm in! There is strength in numbers and support in sister/brotherhood. Besides, Summer is coming so we may as well join. Afterall, even if you don't drop 20 lbs and lose say….12 lbs, you'll still be down 12 lbs. Nothing to lose but inches and lbs. Let's GOOO!

I am with you! I had the same experience a few weeks ago, and started logging all my food, etc. Down 8 pounds so far, and still working toward my goal. For me, keeping track of EVERYTHING I eat and drink has helped a lot. I've been using the iLose app on my iPhone, but I saw a lot of good web-based programs, too. Good luck – we can all support each other!
